New month, new post. We went up to Hesperia last month to watch Devin play in his baseball game, and Chris and Angela wanted to take his mother out to lunch for Mother's Day. We had a blast.  I at least felt like a youngster again, and was giving the kids all sorts of high 5's, low 5's, etc...  On Sunday, James N Jackie stop by to say hello to Dee for Mothers Day, and afterwards Dee and Jenny went out for a went for a massage. Camdyn turned 2 yesterday. What a cutie pie.  Here's a picture we just got from Jill as Camdyn started swimming lessons today Couple of others we took during the month; and, a nice picture of Sherri and Ben..I'll be back in a week I hope.  Jim N Dee still on the road.

Well, it's two weeks later now. Not too much new.  Dee and I went to Fantasy Springs hotel in Palm Desert for our anniversary. I forgot how hot the cement gets when it's 108 degrees outside. We enjoyed going in the pool and jacuzzi. Our room was upgraded to a suite for our anniversary. It was a fun few days as Dee won some money on the way up there, and even more after we got there. I ensured that we didn't want to leave with all of their money and contributed what I could back to them. Had a very nice Memorial Day with Jen, Forrest and the kids. Dee and I are spending our days now going to our different doctors.. Our schedule is full of Going to La Jolla for the VA, and for Dee; Naval Air Station in Coronado. I like going there instead of La Jolla.  Have a good day everyone.

Well, we are back.  I suppose we are still on a road trip. Sort of settled in now in Chula Vista, south of San Diego in California. Dee and I are renting a three bedroom home that has two stories. We had had enough of the motor home thing.  It was getting to be just too much for us to mess around with. We saw a specialist in October at Balboa regarding my diagnosis of the PVD that I've been treating for.  Turns out I had something last year; who knows what??? So, I had the oozing of fluids in my legs, swelling, blah, blah, blah.  I quit smoking on August 15, 2011 and haven't had one since. Go figure. I have gained around 20 pounds though. Most people think it's a good thing. I was kind of anorexic last year.  I fear weight gain due to my old size.  Anyway, we've had a nice Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter down here in San Diego. Ben called me from Guatemala and asked for my blessing and request to marry Sherri. That was a very nice and unexpected pleasure. They plan on getting married sometime next July.  At the same time, James proposed to his girlfriend, Jackie and her son Daniel. So, Dee and I have two of our kids getting married next year. Sherri was in country for a week before Easter, She came down to San Diego with Stacey , our grandchild Alexa, and Raymond. It was good to see the kids. Last weekend we were called to help out with Chris and Angela and their conflicting schedules with their kids ballgames. We got to see Kaitlyn, who is growing up so fast, and Devin. We took the little guy to his baseball game. He of course had his "Big league chew" and played very well in his game.  On Mother's day, we had a short visit from James and Jackie.  No Daniel though. Too Bad.  Dee and Jennifer went for a nice Mother's day Massage in the afternoon Forrest and I prepared a very nice dinner for the moms and of course we had so much fun with Carter and Camdyn. Settling in San Diego has been the best move for us I feel we've made in a long time. Especially with the understanding we can help with the kids. I looked at is as Stacey having the person who gave birth to her living in Santa Clarita for help along with Hutch's parents. Chris and Angela have Angela's mother right there in Hesperia with them. James and Jackie have all of Jackie's family right there assisting. Sherri- ah! No kids yet. Forrest and Jenny have not had anyone helping them out here at all.  Kind of a no brain er for us to come here. We are enjoying life now and especially playing with Carter and Camdyn...

Trip to California and back

Well; another trip under our belts to see our doctor's in 29 Palms and V.A. hospital in Loma Linda. First off, we stopped at our friends house in 29. Bill is on oxygen 24/7 and giving himself anti-biotics 5 times a day for an infection he picked up somewhere. He's also waiting for a double lung transplant for the VA to do up in Wisconsin. He also has Cystic Fibrosis. I'd have to say our friend Bill is a fighter for sure. Then we went to see our friend, Sue.  She's not doing too well at all. She ran out of medicine two weeks ago, and didn't let anyone know.  She just sits in her chair all day,  Doesn't get up for too much. Maybe a cigarette or two per day.  Otherwise, she'll just sit and vegetate. Bummer. Off to the hospital we go. Doc sees Dee first. All of her exams and tests come back with great results. No more blood clot, and Mammogram okay also. We get to me, and I am falling apart. My legs have been killing me for a couple of months now. I stopped walking around one month ago, and I've been getting blisters on the back and sides of my legs. The doc says I have something called Peripheral Vein Disease. It's just something I have, and there is no cure for it. No pills, surgery to get rid of it or anything. Just have to stop smoking, go on a low sodium diet, and try to maintain where it's at right now. Going to see a cardiologist in beginning of March for tests. Then I see a for the numbness and loss of feelings in my hands and feet.  I stopped driving on the way to California, and haven't driven more then 1/2 mile since. Lastly, I'm seeing a Gastrologist to determine why I can't go out to eat somewhere without getting sick. We stayed at James and Jackie's house for two nights. We saw Kaitlyn and Devin one night for around 15 minutes. Saw Sebastian the 2nd night and he got to play with Dee. Went to San Diego for a couple of nights at Jenny and Forres't house and saw Camryn and Carter. Again, Dee played with them.  I've been a pill since finding out about this disease.Didn't get to see Alexa. Since it was the middle of the week, I thought it would be too difficult for Stacey to meet us somewhere. I never called, and apologized; but that didn't seem good enough. Ah !! Life goes on hey? So, we are back in Mesa now. Went to Dee's prents on Monday  and cleaned house. Dee did all the work though. Now, my job is to blow out the dirt and sand on the patio. Today is grocery shopping with the parents. Sherri is in Mesa the next couple of days also. We are looking forward to seeing her also. So, that's the story for now folks.

Settled in Mesa

Dee and I are settled in now in Mesa.  We've been golfing twice a week, playing cards at night with friends, going to lunch with Dee's parents twice a week, trying new recipes in our slow cooker, doing a lot of walking, and went to the botanical gardens in Scottsdale. Being retired is a tough life.  We have also gone to Peoria, and the Wild Horse West restaurant, where Glen and Jill manage. (Forrest's parents)  They have the best hamburgers I've ever tasted. ( I've had a lot ) Some more photos to share. Enjoy !
