Trip from Hell so far

We left Parker Monday morning with Princess a little late. We left ourselves two hours for a trip that would normally take two and a half or three hours taking our time to make it to Yucca Valley. So, we made it in one hour and 50 minutes. Princess has torn ligaments in her right hind leg.  Back on Rimadal, and still on her DES for incontinance. She also is on pet vitamins and still needs her glucosomine w/ fish oil. So, we start off with a $700.00 vet bill for the trip.  We spend the night with James, and as Dee leaves the next morning, she says the tire light is on in the car.  Simple fix right? Add some air, and done.  So, while I am at the VA getting an unexpected root canal done, Dee finds out that the rim on our truck is actually split, and not drivable. All tires are cracked, and only God knows how we drove like madmen and didn't kill ourselves. So, the shop puts the spare on from down below the truck and Dee starts back to Grand Terrace.  Tires are losing air, so she stops in Redlands, and we have $800.00 worth of new tires put on the truck.  I still need a rim for the spare.  Called around, and got prices fro 330 to 720.  We went to Victorville, where the parts guy told me the night before that he may have a used one.  Yep. I purchased one for 150.00, and it was the wrong size rim. So, after like one hour of this guy messing around looking and trying to make deals, I spoke with the parts manager, and all of a sudden a miracle happened:  the guy found another rim for us.  A used one too. I already paid for a used one, so off we go to Pep boys again, to get the spare on. Finally all that stuff is done.  Off to petsmart now to get a ramp for Princess. Amazing.  Yesterday was the Ellen Degeneres Show.  We leave Hesperia at 6 to get there by 8, and low and behold; Dee and I are the only ones there. Letter said to check in at 8. So, we wait around for a while, and finally, some guy shows up, looks at our letter, and says to come back at 12:30 or 2:30.  So, we go back at noon, and the place is packed.  Taping starts at 4 for one show, and 6 for another. So, we kind of hang around, and do not get into the 4 showing.  That's the show where Ellen gives away TV's, beds, blah, blah, blah.. We finally get into the 6 show, and it was pretty good. Ellen's give away was at the end of the show, she thanked us for our enthusiasm. It was really kind of neat though. I felt it was sincere.  So, I haven't slept now for a couple of days, still kind of freaked out about the truck.  We are at the Hilton in Glendale, and off to Anaheim today. Of course I got the hotel by the ballpark for this trip.  Looked at directions last night, and thought; this isn't the one I wanted; but that's the way it is. We are meeting up with Alexa tonight and spending some time with her, This will make our trip a little brighter I think.  Crazy trip so far though.  Those of you who know us pretty well, this is pretty typical. Did I say I am losing my memory also???...

Golfing, swimming, playing, at the river

We,ve been here since Tuesday, and have gone to the pool on a few occasions. It's around 90 degrees in the water. We also went to the only golf course in Parker, and it was beautifully set up. Nice fairways, greens, mountains, and water.  Dee always hits her ball straight and true. I actually emptied my golf bag of all the balls, even extra balls.  I really didn't see the fairway too often. Dee continues to kick my butt playing hand n foot on a daily basis. Her birthday "month" wi8ll be over soon, so I can really start playing soon and turn things around.  Enjoy some pictures of the course, Parker dam, and whatever else I have in here.  Going to Yucca Valley tomorrow for a "drug run" at the base, and take Princess to the vet. Then off to San Bernardino for a few days, then to Burbank for the Ellen Degenerous show, the to Disneyland with Alexa, before coming back to the river for three more weeks. Crazy huh ???

Colorado River Earp CA

We made it in one piece yesterday. Had to stop at La Mesa RV in Mesa, AZ for a quick fix on our generator door. Dee wasn't leaving my jury rigging for the trip. We had a chance for a river spot, but since we'll be gone for a couple of days, we opted for a second row spot. As it is though, this is a great location for us. Today is Dee's birthday; so we have plans to go to Lake Havasu and maybe golf, or just walk around. Enjoy the pictures.

Happy Hour !  Can't miss those.

Ah ! A day to ourselves

Finally !  Whew ! We had  a day to ourselves yesterday, so we played 18 holes of golf at our place.  I rode a cart, and Dee walked.  It got a little warm in the afternoon. I think Dee got a little sun poisening though. Rough night.  So, what did we do? Went out yhis morning and played 9 holes. I rode again, and Dee walked again. A little cooler this morning, so we had a nice lunch, some beer, and relaxing this afternoon.

Easter Weekend

We had a wonderful weekend for Easter. Our daughter Jennifer flew in from San Diego with her our son-in-law Forrest, and grandson, Carter. Chris and Angela made yet another trip to Arizona for the third weekend in a row with Kaitlyn and Devin. We had a nice lunch with Carter and his great grand parents on Friday. Sunday dinner was at Jack and Joans again for consecutive years. Perfect hosts again. No fires though in the kitchen this year. Kids and grankids are all gone now.  Dee and I still very busy though. We play hand and foot at night now and she is just kicking my butt. Next week at this time, we should be settled in over at our next stop for 5 weeks at the Colorado river.  We'll be on the pontoon boat, fishing and still enjoying each others company.  Dee is really missing work this month.  This is her "birthday month". In the past, I could bring her something to her desk each day for her "month". In the motorhome, that is not the caase. So on the 14th, maybe I can take her to someplace in Parker that had early bird specials, and senior discounts.  Ha!
Enjoy the pictures. Just a few though.  Too many to post.
