Trip to California and back

Well; another trip under our belts to see our doctor's in 29 Palms and V.A. hospital in Loma Linda. First off, we stopped at our friends house in 29. Bill is on oxygen 24/7 and giving himself anti-biotics 5 times a day for an infection he picked up somewhere. He's also waiting for a double lung transplant for the VA to do up in Wisconsin. He also has Cystic Fibrosis. I'd have to say our friend Bill is a fighter for sure. Then we went to see our friend, Sue.  She's not doing too well at all. She ran out of medicine two weeks ago, and didn't let anyone know.  She just sits in her chair all day,  Doesn't get up for too much. Maybe a cigarette or two per day.  Otherwise, she'll just sit and vegetate. Bummer. Off to the hospital we go. Doc sees Dee first. All of her exams and tests come back with great results. No more blood clot, and Mammogram okay also. We get to me, and I am falling apart. My legs have been killing me for a couple of months now. I stopped walking around one month ago, and I've been getting blisters on the back and sides of my legs. The doc says I have something called Peripheral Vein Disease. It's just something I have, and there is no cure for it. No pills, surgery to get rid of it or anything. Just have to stop smoking, go on a low sodium diet, and try to maintain where it's at right now. Going to see a cardiologist in beginning of March for tests. Then I see a for the numbness and loss of feelings in my hands and feet.  I stopped driving on the way to California, and haven't driven more then 1/2 mile since. Lastly, I'm seeing a Gastrologist to determine why I can't go out to eat somewhere without getting sick. We stayed at James and Jackie's house for two nights. We saw Kaitlyn and Devin one night for around 15 minutes. Saw Sebastian the 2nd night and he got to play with Dee. Went to San Diego for a couple of nights at Jenny and Forres't house and saw Camryn and Carter. Again, Dee played with them.  I've been a pill since finding out about this disease.Didn't get to see Alexa. Since it was the middle of the week, I thought it would be too difficult for Stacey to meet us somewhere. I never called, and apologized; but that didn't seem good enough. Ah !! Life goes on hey? So, we are back in Mesa now. Went to Dee's prents on Monday  and cleaned house. Dee did all the work though. Now, my job is to blow out the dirt and sand on the patio. Today is grocery shopping with the parents. Sherri is in Mesa the next couple of days also. We are looking forward to seeing her also. So, that's the story for now folks.

Settled in Mesa

Dee and I are settled in now in Mesa.  We've been golfing twice a week, playing cards at night with friends, going to lunch with Dee's parents twice a week, trying new recipes in our slow cooker, doing a lot of walking, and went to the botanical gardens in Scottsdale. Being retired is a tough life.  We have also gone to Peoria, and the Wild Horse West restaurant, where Glen and Jill manage. (Forrest's parents)  They have the best hamburgers I've ever tasted. ( I've had a lot ) Some more photos to share. Enjoy !

Sunshine again

Dee and I are back in Mesa, AZ now after a hectic few weeks of traveling. Went to Stacey's house on the 23rd and stayed until Christmas morning. Fun watching Alexa open her Christmas gifts. Off we went to Chris and Angela's house to see them and Kaitlyn n Devin. James n Jackie came with Sebastian later in the day. Very nice Christmas for us. Off to Universal Studios with Chris, Angela and the kids on the 27th. Fun day at the park. We went straight to Anaheim that afternoon and checked into our hotel. Next two days it rained and Disneyland was so packed that they closed the park. We have our annual passes, so we got in, It was crazy though, with all those people there. Check mark on not where to go after Christmas. Off to San Diego we go. Checked in,and just relaxed for the night. Next day, off we go to the Zoo with Jen, Forrest, and little man Carter. Back to Chris n Angela's for New Year's Eve. James, Jackie, and Sebastian also came up from Yucaipa. Jan 1st, off we go again. This time to Las Vegas. We saw the Blue Man Group. Very good show. We started to leave from Las Vegas and it was snowing. Go figure. Got to Hesperia and it was still snowing. So, Dee drove the car, and off in the motor home I go. We hooked up the car in Palm Desert where there was no snow or rain. Said good by to our friends, Scott and Michelle. Continued our trip to Mesa. Pulled into our RV resort at around 10 or so. Knocked out over 500 miles on that day driving. We were kind of burnt out for a couple of days. We've seen Dee's parents a couple of times and Uncle Jack and Aunt Joan. We've been over  to Jim and Cindy's house numerous times for dinner and to play hand n foot. The JJ Express is back. Jim n Jim are beating the girls so bad they want to switch partners.  I think we better let them win a game, or else. Dee and I are already hooked up for spring training games in Tempe to see the Angels play. We're going opening day to see the Angels vs. Dodgers.  We've golfed twice and have tee times for two days this week.Walking with our pull carts 9 holes. Dee is doing very well walking with her new hip and all. All caught up now on our latest adventure.  I'll have more time now to post.
