Trip from Hell so far
We left Parker Monday morning with Princess a little late. We left ourselves two hours for a trip that would normally take two and a half or three hours taking our time to make it to Yucca Valley. So, we made it in one hour and 50 minutes. Princess has torn ligaments in her right hind leg. Back on Rimadal, and still on her DES for incontinance. She also is on pet vitamins and still needs her glucosomine w/ fish oil. So, we start off with a $700.00 vet bill for the trip. We spend the night with James, and as Dee leaves the next morning, she says the tire light is on in the car. Simple fix right? Add some air, and done. So, while I am at the VA getting an unexpected root canal done, Dee finds out that the rim on our truck is actually split, and not drivable. All tires are cracked, and only God knows how we drove like madmen and didn't kill ourselves. So, the shop puts the spare on from down below the truck and Dee starts back to Grand Terrace. Tires are losing air, so she stops in Redlands, and we have $800.00 worth of new tires put on the truck. I still need a rim for the spare. Called around, and got prices fro 330 to 720. We went to Victorville, where the parts guy told me the night before that he may have a used one. Yep. I purchased one for 150.00, and it was the wrong size rim. So, after like one hour of this guy messing around looking and trying to make deals, I spoke with the parts manager, and all of a sudden a miracle happened: the guy found another rim for us. A used one too. I already paid for a used one, so off we go to Pep boys again, to get the spare on. Finally all that stuff is done. Off to petsmart now to get a ramp for Princess. Amazing. Yesterday was the Ellen Degeneres Show. We leave Hesperia at 6 to get there by 8, and low and behold; Dee and I are the only ones there. Letter said to check in at 8. So, we wait around for a while, and finally, some guy shows up, looks at our letter, and says to come back at 12:30 or 2:30. So, we go back at noon, and the place is packed. Taping starts at 4 for one show, and 6 for another. So, we kind of hang around, and do not get into the 4 showing. That's the show where Ellen gives away TV's, beds, blah, blah, blah.. We finally get into the 6 show, and it was pretty good. Ellen's give away was at the end of the show, she thanked us for our enthusiasm. It was really kind of neat though. I felt it was sincere. So, I haven't slept now for a couple of days, still kind of freaked out about the truck. We are at the Hilton in Glendale, and off to Anaheim today. Of course I got the hotel by the ballpark for this trip. Looked at directions last night, and thought; this isn't the one I wanted; but that's the way it is. We are meeting up with Alexa tonight and spending some time with her, This will make our trip a little brighter I think. Crazy trip so far though. Those of you who know us pretty well, this is pretty typical. Did I say I am losing my memory also???...

Perhaps its best that you lose your memory if all your trips are like the one coming from Parker! Thank heavens you did not have a blow out while driving like you were at the Indy! Glad Princess got to see the vet even if it did cost you an are and leg....she's worth it! Stay safe and await your next posting...if you should see that NOT CUTE, NOT MR.PERSONALITY grandchild we share, please give him kisses for Granma & Grandpa Villa. You guys are TOOOO MUCH!
